Who We Are

Wesley Fellowship at Emory University is a United Methodist campus ministry for undergraduates and graduate students housed at Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia.

Emory Wesley is located at Glenn Memorial UMC, a historic congregation on Emory’s campus founded in 1920. Glenn welcomes Wesley students with open arms to be part of worship and other ministries. Glenn is part of the United Methodist Church, a global denomination whose mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Emory Wesley is a partner of Reconciling Ministries Network, a United Methodist organization working for LGBTQ+ inclusion and intersectional justice in the UMC and beyond. Emory Wesley professes values of curiosity, inclusion, and radical hospitality.

What We Do

MONDAY NIGHTS — Our main gathering on Monday nights includes worship, games, and dinner. We meet for dinner in the Fellowship Hall at 6 and worship in the Little Chapel at Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church at 6:30. Then stick around after worship for different fellowship events, such as team trivia, an ice cream sundae bar, or study hall during finals season. Glenn is on Emory’s campus at 1660 N Decatur Rd. For help finding us, contact Sutton at ssmith@glennumc.org or check out our Instagram @emorywesleyfellowship.

SMALL GROUPS — Emory Wesley has three small groups that meet regularly: Freshley (freshmen + Wesley) for first-year students, our general small group for undergrads and graduate students, and a monthly small group for students who identify in the LGBTQ+ community. If you’re interested in being part of a small group, reach out to Sutton at ssmith@glennumc.org to get connected.

SUNDAY MORNINGS — Wesley students gather for Bible study on Sunday mornings at 9:30 at Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church. You can find us in the Wesley Room, room 211 in Glenn’s Church School Building. Additionally, we love for students to join us for worship at Glenn on Sunday mornings at 8:30 in the Little Chapel or 11:00 in the Sanctuary. Contact Sutton at ssmith@glennumc.org if you need help finding us.

OPEN HOUSE — The Wesley Room is open at various times during the week as a space for students to hang out and study. We’re always stocked with coffee, tea, and snacks! Join the Wesley GroupMe to see when we’re open.

SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES — Wesley students have many opportunities to serve our community. Join us on Thursday afternoons to pack food bags for over 400 elementary students facing food insecurity in our area with the Snack in a Backpack program at Glenn. Each month, Emory Wesley partners with the Young Adult Ministry at Glenn Memorial UMC for a service and learning opportunity beyond the walls of the church. Past partners have included Wellroot Family Services, Intown Cares, and Lost-n-Found Youth. Follow our Instagram @emorywesleyfellowship to see what we’re doing next.
